The Kysilenkos work with the church in Bila Tserkva, where Kostya is the preacher. They spend much of their time counseling, teaching classes at the Ukraine Education Center, and caring for the many orphans in Ukraine.

Betty has done mission work in Ukraine for the past 13 years. She and her husand Joe currently spend 6 months out of the year there.

When in Ukraine, 7 days a week are devoted to teaching at the church and in their apartment. They also minister to teenagers at the Shans Center, a rehab center for those with multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, and other illnesses.

Highland has been instrumental in opening a Christian Student Center near the city of Kyiv, Ukraine's capital. The purpose of the UEC is to promote a living faith in Jesus Christ by meeting educational needs. The Center provides textbooks, research materials, computers, internet access, and free tea and sugar to all of its guests.
